December Documented 2015 Completed! *Hip Kit Club*

Hello everyone!

I'm sharing the rest of my completed December Documented 2015 album on the Hip Kit Club Facebook page today...

I used the November 2015 Hip Kits to create my entire album and you can see the first five days of my album here.

I created a large flip pocket with the photo above using some washi tape from Freckled Fawn that's available in the December Documented 2015 Hip Kit.

I added several confetti pockets throughout my album using sequins, a few wood veneer pieces, and my sewing machine.

I kept my overall design scheme simple and easy so I could complete my album quickly. I tend to lose some creative steam if I wait too long to complete a mini album :)

I started my album typing my journaling on my computer, but I ended it by using my own handwriting to save a little time.

We had a wonderful December and I love how my album turned out! I also really love the 6x8 album size because it made it easy to arrange my photos and journaling cards the way I wanted them.

I used one of the 6x8 page protectors to house the holiday cards we received and placed it at the end of my album.

I hope you had a very merry Christmas and I want to wish you a happy New Year!  Thanks for stopping by today!

Happy Day *Hip Kit Club*

Happy Tuesday everyone!

I have this layout that I created using the December 2015 Hip Kits to share with you today...

I had this selfie-style photo of myself enjoying a very rare Starbucks treat after I spent a long morning Christmas shopping. The black and white photo inspired my color scheme and was a fun change of pace.

I used Nicole Nowosad's December 2015 Cut File to cut out the black and white striped triangles that I arranged to the right of my page.

I added pops of glittery gold embellishments around my page for some glitz and glam and layered the lovely "Love" ephemera piece under the letter sticker sheet I used for an added pop of black and white.

Be sure and stop by the Hip Kit Club blog and check out my full post. Have a wonderful day and a very Merry Christmas!

Puppy Love *Hip Kit Club*

Hello everyone!

I'm sharing this layout about my son's new puppy on the Hip Kit Club Facebook page today!

I used the December 2015 Hip Kits to create this layout...they are so full of inspiring products that it took me a while to figure out what I was going to use for this page. I used some of the Shimmerz paint from the December 2015 Color Kit  to color the journaling card under the "hello" sentiment card so it would better coordinate with my color scheme. I love how the paint is easily mixed and dries quickly.

I also used the Mistable Stars from the color kit and painted them silver so they would also coordinate with the color scheme I chose for this page.

I used the "Tickle Me Turquoise" Shimmerz paint again to color in the "LOVE" sentiment card in the photo below.

I added a few of the Crate Paper wood veneer embellishments from the December 2015 Main Kit for an added texture twist and housed my typed journaling in the photo frame.

I love how versatile the December 2015 Hip Kits are! They're perfect for holiday themed or non-holiday themed projects. Be sure and grab yours today before they're all gone!

Thanks for dropping by!

December Documented 2015 - Day 1-5 *Hip Kit Club*

Hello everyone!

I have the start of my December Documented 2015 album to share with you today. I'm also sharing this post on the Hip Kit Club blog as well :)

I used the November 2015 Hip Kits and the December Documented 2015 Daily Kit from Hip Kit Club to create my album this year. At first I was stumped on how to design my album cover for quite some time but I knew if I was patient an idea would arise.  And it did! I placed several of the die cut word phrases from Pinkfresh Studio in a tree shape and added a flair button and a few silver glitter foam stickers for embellishments. This is a completely different album cover style for me, but I love how it turned out!

I placed a beautiful gold foil letterpress December calendar from Studio Calico on the inside of my album and jazzed up our family Christmas card with some acrylic embellishments that are exclusive to the HKC December Documented 2015 Daily Kit

The calendar and the Christmas card are two items that I always include in my December album each year.

I embellished the back side of my Christmas card page using a November cut file and some letter stickers from Pinkfresh Studio that are available here

Here's a look at Day 1...

I always like to include a photo of my kiddos for the first day of December. Even though I took the photo on Thanksgiving, it was the most recent pic that I had of them all together.

This year I decided to use my computer for my journaling. I printed my words out on vellum and placed it in a die cut frame from Pinkfresh Studio to highlight a few thoughts I had about the upcoming month.

And here's a look at my spread for Day 2 - 5...

I kept my overall design clean and simple, with a few fun embellies such as the sequins and wood veneer pieces.

Documenting festive drinks and special holiday coffees is a fun photo prompt that I like to include in my December album. This year I'm all about Moscow Mules!!! If you haven't heard of or ever tried one here's a great recipe and they're super easy to make! I also have a few other recipes using different variations on my Pinterest board

Once again, I squeezed my journaling onto a piece of wood grain patterned paper using my computer and one of my favorite fonts.

Day 4 & 5

I added a flip-up journaling pocket under the "five" acrylic square using some washi from Freckled Fawn and my sewing machine for something a little more interactive. As you can see we got a new puppy so I'm sure he'll be popping up all over this album, lol!

Making my December Documented album is one of my most favorite yearly album that I create for my family. It is one of their favorite albums to look through throughout the year as well. If you haven't started on your album yet, I hope I've given you some inspiration and a few ideas to get you going!

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Tree Story *The Cut Shoppe*

Happy Monday, everyone!

I'm so excited to be a guest designer over at The Cut Shoppe today!  I created this layout using The Totally Triangles cut file and made the triangles look like trees for a little festive flair...

I was so inspired by the photo of my daughter helping me hang ornaments on our Christmas tree last year that I decided to use different patterned paper pieces to back some of the triangles along a horizontal line across my page.

Next, I added several epoxy glitter stars from Freckled Fawn to make the triangles look more like Christmas trees after I stitched the cut file down using my sewing machine and some white thread.

I typed my journaling on a die cut tag and layered it on top of the set of trees at the bottom that I cut apart from the original cut file.

Even though this page is fairly simple in design, adding the patterned paper pieces really made a statement and changed the whole look of the cut file!

I want to thank Ashley and The Cut Shoppe for having me as a guest designer today! Thanks for stopping by and be sure and check out my post on The Cut Shoppe Blog!

Project Life Weeks 41 & 42 *Hip Kit Club*

Happy December 1st, everyone!

I'm trying to get caught up with my Project Life spreads so I can focus on my December Documented album so I have Weeks 41 & 42 to share with you today...

Week 41

I used the October and November 2015 Hip Kits to create this spread but as you can tell I'm hoarding most of my November kits for my December album...

I used lots of the wood veneer shapes from Simple Stories around my spread and as a neutral accent.

I cut apart pieces of patterned paper from PinkFresh Studio and Hip Kit Club and used them as my journaling and filler cards. In fact, did you know that Hip Kit Club has it's own line of exclusive patterned papers now?!?! They're designed by our very own Kim Watson and they are gorgeous!

Week 42

I kept my embellishing simple and cohesive so the two weeks flow better together. I chose an aqua, gold, and brown toned color scheme because this spread covers early October activities.

I'm sharing this spread on the Hip Kit Club Facebook page today so I hope you'll stop by and check it out!

And here's a look at the full spread for Weeks 41 & 42...

I hope you have a wonderful day! Thanks for stopping by!

My Heart Is So Full Of Joy *Hip Kit Club*

Hello everyone!

I shared this festive holiday layout on the Hip Kit Club blog today...

I used the gorgeous November 2015 Hip Kits and my favorite photo of my kiddos from last year to create this page.

The November 2015 Hip Kits are jam packed full of products from Pink Fresh Studio, Crate Paper, October Afternoon, Simple Stories and more! I chose the Pink Fresh Studio patterned paper from the December Documented 2015 kit as the base of my layout.

I added several of the November cut files created by Nicole Nowosad that are available here and lots of sparkly and festive holiday embellishments from the kits around my photo and on the right side of the page.

I mixed up my lengthy title with different letter stickers and a heart sticker from Heidi Swap for added visual interest.

Be sure and grab you November kits from Hip Kit Club before they're gone and join us for the Cyber Monday sale on November 20th, 2015 for some amazing deals!

Have a great day and happy Thanksgiving from my family to yours!
